Summer 2026

Important updates

Connect with us at AMO 2026

We're looking forward to connecting with municipal leaders and partners at the 2026 Association of Municipalities of Ontario (AMO) Conference in Ottawa.

Join us for our session, Growing and Managing the Tax Base in a Complex World, on Tuesday, August 18, from 8:30–9:45 a.m.

The interactive discussion – including audience Q&A – will explore assessment growth and property market trends across Ontario, what they may mean for municipalities, and how MPAC's data, tools, and expertise can support local decision-making.

We’re also pleased to have the Ministry of Finance join us during our session.

Be sure to visit us at booth #217 to meet members of our team and learn more about the resources and services available to municipalities.

We look forward to seeing you. If you'd like to schedule time with us during the conference, please contact your local Municipal and Stakeholder Relations team.

MPAC AboutMyProperty™ e-notifications now available

MPAC is making it easier for Ontarians to stay informed about their property assessments. Pursuant to recent changes in legislation enabling the digital delivery of Property Assessment Notices, property owners can now receive electronic notifications through MPAC AboutMyProperty™ when a notice is available. This new feature will trigger an email notification to registered users who have updated their mailing preferences, letting them know when a new notice is available to view online. Property owners who have enabled electronic notifications will no longer receive paper copies of their notices.

For Ontarians, the benefits are simple:

  • Faster access to important property information.
  • More choice in how they receive communications.
  • A more convenient, streamlined experience.

Electronic notifications build on existing access to property assessment notices in MPAC AboutMyProperty™, giving Ontarians greater control while maintaining the same secure, reliable process they depend on.

Property owners may now update their delivery preferences in MPAC AboutMyProperty™ upon registration. If you are engaging with current users, they can find the new feature under the ‘Manage my account’ section.

Resources and insights

MPAC releases updated residential housing data source

In June, MPAC released an update to the property insights (housing inventory) map, a resource that allows individuals to review and analyze a decade of Ontario’s housing data. New data provides an updated view of Ontario’s housing market, building on insights previously shared in 2024, and shows early signs of correction from conditions in 2022.

You can explore these trends in more detail through the map and shifts in your community or review the province-wide trends in the news release.

The Business Properties Report: Market Insights

Helping you to better understand what the market trends mean to support informed data-driven decision making is important to us. That's why MPAC has launched a new semi-annual report – The Business Properties Report: Market Insights – presenting clear, value-added insights.

This report provides an overview of trends across six key business sectors, including:

  • Retail
  • Standard industrial
  • Small commercial
  • Office
  • Multi-residential
  • Hospitality

In addition to highlighting the most significant shifts over the past five years (2021-2025) in development activity, income performance, and sales, this report includes trends across the following seven Ontario market areas to reflect important regional differences across the province.

  • Toronto
  • Ottawa
  • Eastern Ontario
  • Greater Golden Horseshoe Inner Ring
  • Greater Golden Horseshoe Outer Ring
  • Western Ontario
  • Northern Ontario

If you have any questions or would like to discuss the data in this report, please contact your local Municipal and Stakeholder Relations team.

MPAC on the move

Snapshots from the road

This spring, our teams had the opportunity to connect with municipal and provincial partners at events across Ontario, including the 2026 Federation of Northern Ontario Municipalities (FONOM) Conference in Timmins, the Ontario Municipal Administrators Association (OMAA) Spring Workshop in Muskoka Lakes, and the Association of Municipal Managers, Clerks and Treasurers of Ontario (AMCTO) Conference in Huntsville.

These conversations provided valuable, real-time insight into the issues municipalities are navigating. We appreciate the feedback shared by our partners, which helps us better understand local priorities and informs the services, tools, and resources we provide to municipalities.
