MPAC Recognized at the 2023 RICS Awards – Americas

MPAC’s Assessment Standards and Mass Appraisal (ASMA) team was recently recognized by RICS – Americas for its work in the development and application of mass appraisal models and research in emerging technologies.

MPAC received the recognition in the Valuation Award category at the NYU World Built Environment Conference last month. The team was recognized for its evolution into a self-sustaining group of future valuation ‘thinkers’ committed to innovation and the pursuit of quality.

“Our ASMA team continues to set the bar high for professionalism and expertise as a leading influence in mass appraisal modelling and innovation,” says Greg Martino, Vice President and Chief Valuation & Standards Officer, MPAC. “The RICS’ recognition of their accomplishments is further evidence of our leadership and expertise within the industry.”

On the road to AMO

We are looking forward to connecting with municipal representatives at the 2023 AMO Conference in London, taking place August 20 – 23. We will take part in the following sessions and hope that you’ll be able to join us:

  • Tuesday, August 22, 12:45 p.m. Nicole McNeill, President and Chief Administrative Officer; Alan Spacek, Chair, MPAC Board of Directors; and Carmelo Lipsi, Vice-President and Chief Operating Officer will present an MPAC and property tax and assessment system update with time for attendee questions.
  • MPAC will also be hosting an exhibit booth where our Municipal and Stakeholder Relations team welcomes the opportunity to share information about our work and discuss issues that are important to your municipality.

Connecting at the AMCTO Conference

Our Municipal and Stakeholder Relations team was pleased to be at the Association of Municipal Managers, Clerks and Treasurers of Ontario (AMCTO) Conference in Niagara Falls last month.

It was great to connect with municipalities about our municipally-focused work and the results of our 2022 enumeration efforts to support the October Municipal and School Board Elections. Jason Hagan, Regional Manager and Shannon Long, Account Manager, provided an MPAC update and shared more details about our strategies for the 2022 enumeration campaign, which included leveraging technology, partnerships, and an educational awareness campaign among eligible voters to help ensure they were on the Voters’ List. They also took the opportunity to highlight MPAC’s new School Support online portal, which makes it easier for property owners and tenants to confirm or make changes to their school support preferences.

If you’d like to learn more about MPAC’s enumeration efforts, watch for the 2022 Enumeration Report, available this summer.
